Iceless ground fog chiller in a tidy cat pail.
Wanted to share how using an ultrasonic mister I added an iceless fog chiller capability to my Tidy cat fog chiller for making low lying spooky ground for Halloween, theatrical, or photoshoots. In this video I do add a little bit of ice to keep the water cool, which also refills the water as that ice melts.

Please read description for details and models this should apply to. According to wiki, Whirlpool makes all these brands. " Whirlpool, Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Gladiator GarageWorks, Inglis, Estate, Brastemp, Bauknecht, Ignis, Indesit, and Consul." I created a fix for my leaking diverter that did not require buying a new $50 diverter motor, and $20 seal. It involves place a small pi...
Repair refrigerator low water dispenser flow, water filter problem fix.
Просмотров 82 тыс.6 лет назад
This assumes you have already verified that with the filter bypass plug installed water dispenses correctly. Many refrigerators Whirlpool, Kitchen-aid, GE, Maytag among them, using the UKF8001 style filters seem to be suffering from low flow from the water dispenser. Installing a new filter does not fix the problem very long, if at all. Replacing or paying to have someone replace the $80 reserv...

Replacing & improving a Safe-T-Switch HVAC drain overflow cutoff.

Replaced a failed closed Safe-T-Switch HVAC drain overflow switch. While doing this, I added an LED to help troubleshoot the HVAC. If the drain plugs again, or the switch fails open and shuts off the system, the red LED will illuminate to help me quickly find the problem. You should place tape or heat shrink tubing over the bare leads. While it is on the 28V AC system, that is no guarantee your...

Simply fog Juice versus Froggy's Fog Swamp Juice
Просмотров 4 тыс.8 лет назад
Here two of the same model 400W fog machines are used to compare Simply Fog Juice to Froggy's Fog Swamp Juice. Simply Fog Juice does not use Propylene Glycol which some people have reported being sensitive to when fog is used indoors. I assumed this might put it at a performance disadvantage. But how much of a disadvantage was unknown. Have a look for the surprising (hint) result. It is worth m...
California Air Tools CAT-1610A Ultra Quiet Air Compressor, Isn't Really.

Comparison of sound output of a 59 dB TC-20 & a 60dB CAT-1610A compressor. The TC-20 is a nice small compressor, but it's really only shown to give a reference point to the sound measurements. The CAT-1610A measured at 70 dB, MUCH louder than advertised.

First look at dearly departed's memorial. Halloween prop.
This helped us tremendously. We had never had this problem before with the water not dispensing after we changed the filter. My husband used a hose washer, made out of plastic, and it fixed the issue immediatly.
Thanks bro used a 5/8 hose washer did the trick. My wife thinks I'm a genius. Don't tell her!
It worked! I didn't have a hose gasket so I tripled over a rubber band and it is compressing the 2 buttons above and below the valve. Now the water is really flowing! Great video and thanks so much!
Wow; thanks for posting! You saved me a lot of hassle. Garden hose gasket did the trick!
This fixed my issue! Thank you so much! I am trilled! Been dealing with low water pressure in our fridge for far too long! I used a rubber washer and it did the trick!
It was my dad's refrigator he sanded down a hose washer to the thickness of a dime. It worked great. where would we be without RUclips and all the great people who post on it. Thank you Bobby.
This might sound stupid but could I just put a rap of caulk around it? Maybe from the bottom?
I used a hose washer also, took a few minutes to fill up the filter before the water started to dispense.
Thank you so much! I used a 5/8" rubber hose washer to fix slow flow that I'd been having for years. Appliance repair company was trying to charge me $600-936 to replace housing parts, "depending on which parts they ended up installing" (which probably would've just been all of them). A trip to the home improvement store and a couple bucks later, I have water flow!
It works saved me some money hands down
It worked, the best video hands down .
Truly the best video ever. Everyone else online was recommending replacing the filter, replacing the tubes, but your fix was the simplest and worked the best! Just cut some top loaders for trading cards, popped it in and perfect!
This didn't fix it for me! I'm so frustrated! I replaced the water inlet valve too. When first inserting the filter I get good pressure but it's gone within seconds. Any ideas?
Amazing, water hose washer, boom, 5 seconds later my family likes me again. Bobby, thank you!
Just did this to my kitchen aid. Ty for the video. Hopefully this lasts a while
yes like others this was great, thanks. i even bought worldpool filters thinking offbrand was issue. it worked fine with the bypass cap, but as soon as i put a filter in it did not work. you saved me from my wifes bitching for over a week now about the water taking forever.
I went through this crap tonight. I took piece of PTFE bar stock and bored the ID with a 15/64 Drill bit IIRC - then turned down the OD to something like .25"(piece was too thin to accurately measure with dial calipers) . hoping the low friction coefficient of the PTFE promotes a longer life out of the lip seal. the ID was a slight interference fit to the shaft but since the wall thickness was so thin, it just distorted to the shaft diameter. just wrapping up first test run.... so far so good.
Do you cover the shaft - THEN apply the round gasket? But avoid the very tip? Seems the white plastic ring moves to control water flow up to the two sprayers.
Genius fix! Thank you!
Thank you so much ,found a washer & problem solved! What a wonderful service you have provided i am truly grateful !!!! Bob in Fl.
You are the freakin man 🎉
Bobby you're the BEST!
Prefect. Thank you for this.
I just took apart my whirlpool to clean out the circulation pump and after putting it back together has this exact issue, water was just pouring out the bottom of the diverter. Tossed some heat shrink on there and just completed a cycle without a drop - thank you sir!
Worked perfectly. Thanks for the tip.
Alelulia Brother. What an easy fix!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you.
fixed it thanks
I was just about at my wits end with this. I spent some time troubleshooting an unrelated issue and eventually replacing the circulation pump. Of course I had to remove the diverter to do that, and when I reassembled everything I had a leak at the diverter. Not super surprising, but a bummer nonetheless since I had fixed my original problem. Not being an appliance repair person, I really didn’t want to spend any more money or time on this project and almost resolved to grabbing a new dishwasher vs sinking another $80+ into this one. But since I had everything out already I went ahead and tried this. I applied a little heat and allowed the shrink to do its thing since I figure the heat from the washer would do it anyways. I’m only one cycle deep, but so far so good! Thanks for the video!
Too dark Why don’t you use a better flashlight
Yup, this worked for me as well!! I cut out a makeshift washer from a 1 gallon milk jug to use "food safe" plastic and one layer did the trick. Thanks for the video!
I used a rubber o ring and it didn’t help me, shoot
What kind of video ..?. No light. Can see anything
What is that seal/gasket part number?
This was a good idea, doing a vid focusing on the diverter.
Thank you for posting this video. This fixed leak quickly. Had to use one size smaller tube with some Balistol lube while holding underneath to work it on. Was going to cost me $90 just for a diagnostic and then the cost of parts they would have replaced. Or my wife was already talking about a new dishwasher. Thank you so much!
Thanks!
So did u replace the grommet
Thank you so much for this video! Before finding this video, I sent a video of my leaking diverted motor to my appliance repair man, and he was thinking that it might be about a $300-$400 repair. I jumped on RUclips and found this video. I tried this method of putting 1/4” heat shrink on the shaft. (The 1/4” was just slightly large. So I did apply heat to it, and I actually put on 3 layers so that the rubber washer was more snug.) So far it’s working great!!! No more leaking at all. Saved me hundreds of $$$s!
Watched your video. Bought a 1/4 in. Heat Shrink Tubing, black (5-Pack) at Home Depot for $3.63 plus taxes. Came home. Removed the diverter motor and cut the tubes to less than half an inch. I used 2 (one inside the other) and ran the dishwasher. Zero leak. I added a dishwasher tray underneath for added protection. Thanks, dude!
You are incredible it fixed my problem. Anyone reading this I used a sealing tape “FASTape” and warped it tight around two finger to make a circle and then I used that circle to place it where the video shows instead of of using a PVC pipe. Well done! Thanks for the short and to the point helpful video you made !
Brilliant! I've replaced almost every part that I could trying to stop this leak until I saw that little gasket on the diverter shaft! If only I had seen this video 7 days ago, would have saved me soooooooo much heartache. Great job, thanks, heading to lowes to get some 1/4 inch shrink wrap now
Thanks so much for this suggestion! I used heat shrink tubing and it totally fixed my leak. Unfortunately it made my diverted motor start making a clicking sound. I think the diverter itself is getting stuck on the motor shaft due to the shrink tubing, but if I remove it or cut it lower the leak returns.
Good job, thanks a lot!!
I'm going through this right now with a kitchenaid model. Already replaced the grommet seal on the inside, so far the leak seems much slower but not gone. The new grommet has a very tight fit around the white plastic spindle though, hard to see how any shrink tube will fit in between the spindle and the grommet? Also, when the washer is running the drips doesn't appear to be coming from straight under the spindle/grommet area, which I would expect given the openings in the plastic housing directly under that area, but towards the other end of the diverter motor where the blue part # sticker typically is. Of course it's hard to see exactly while lying on the floor with a flashlight. Anyone have any similar experience?
You are a great man. It worked like a charm. I had been getting 2 oz. of water when set for 8 oz. We put up with this for 3 years.
why not just buy a new seal? 6 bucks?
Works like a charm! I suspected the double solenoid valve and spent $70 on it to no avail. I hesitated to try the $0.70 first because I thought it might damage the filter head assembly but it worked great!
Worked for me! Thanks for the tip!
Thank you! My boyfriend has spent HOURS trying to figure out how to fix this issue! I showed him your video & he ran right out to his shop to see what he had on hand to use! Ended up using a garden hose washer! THANK YOU for the video! I can see Whirlpool hasn’t put much thought into resolving this issue as we purchased our Whirlpool 2022 & you made this video in 2018… 4 years ago!
Man o man, I was ready to buy a new fridge and this video popped up on my last search, a .49 part saved me THOUSANDS....used the rubber hose washer as well!!! Thanks again for posting..
